Contrary
to what abacus is somewhat being overlooked in the present
day’s mainstream school education nowadays, there is, however,
an increasing need for abacus/mental arithmetic programs in the
society.
In light of which, the association, keenly aware of the
importance of educating prominent teaching faculty to
rediscovering the dying heritage craft – the Abacus, has taken
the lead in staging various short- and long-term abacus/mental
arithmetic faculty seminar programs and teaching symposiums by
retaining the leading experts and scholars to date to provide
lectureship in a move to aggressively development abacus/mental
arithmetic teaching faculty that could help to revive the abacus
education.
Since it inception, the program has seen close to four
hundred trainees successfully completing the program to foster
not only critical acclaim from the abacus sector, but is highly
regarded as a cradle for culminating local abacus teaching
faculty. |

To
step up the sophistication of abacus teaching
faculty in Taiwan, the Taiwan Chamber
of Commerce has staged abacus and
mental arithmetic workshops, which have
benefited over four hundred participants.

In
search of bringing tips to avid abacus and
mental arithmetic trainees, the Taiwan Chamber
of Commerce has specially arranged
in the symposium an entrant-training
program, aimed at bringing the entrants
to better understand important tips.

Though
not easy to manage successful development
workshops, the Taiwan Chamber
of Commerce utilizes the opportunity
of the teaching faculty symposium,
with the support of lecturer Liao
Cheng-hui, to call on a mental arithmetic
class as part of the field study program.

In
search of promoting the IQ enhancement that
abacus computing has to offer, and to step
up the exchange of Taiwan’s abacus sector,
the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce has
specially staged island-wide roaming tour
of abacus teaching symposiums; depicted
here is a session held in Taipei.
