第10屆泛太平洋珠心算比賽-印度

由泛太平洋珠心算協會印度分會 Pushpanathan. P 會長所精心籌辦的第10屆泛太平洋珠心算比賽 ,於20081228日上午10時30分起在印度金奈(Chennai ) 的 Le Royal Meridian 飯店盛大舉行, 這也是泛太平洋珠心算比賽自1999年在台灣台北首辦 之後,相繼2000年在馬來西亞吉隆坡、2001年在泰國曼谷、2002年在加拿大多倫多、2003年在印尼雅加達、2004年 在台灣桃園、2005年在新加坡、2006年在香港、2007年在美國加州聖荷西等地盛大舉行之後,輪值由泛太平洋珠心算協會印度總會主辦的第10屆盛會。

在2008年這一年一度的珠算盛會中,泛太平洋珠心算協會廖正輝總會長不僅主動提供印度分會比賽相關協助並贊助本次比賽的試題、試卷,台 灣省商業會亦以鼓勵珠算推廣活動為出發,贊助大會比賽桌墊及小禮物,共同為推廣全球珠算事業而努力。

大會在 Pushpanathan. P 會長精心籌備下,不僅秩序井然的進行了比賽,賽後也進行了揭示心算的示範表演,同時安排了許多印度地區的傳統舞蹈節目,讓與會的選手、家長、來賓可以體驗到印度的特殊風情。

以下是泛太平洋珠心算協會印度分會 Pushpanathan. P 會長的活動報導:

The 10th Pan Pacific Abacus & Mental Arithmetic Competition- 2008 a Report

It was quite an exceptional and outstanding day 28.12.2008 in the history of semas academy India –Chennai chapter.

Shihan Pushpanathan president PAMA India and fonder of SEAMS Academy, with his unstinted co-operating committee members brought out a colorful show by executing bubbling enthusiasm and zeal in organization of the 10th PAMA (Pan Pacific Abacus & Mental Arithmetic Association) Competitions – 2008.

The main goal in organizing these competitions is to make mental maths and arithmetic skills to promote the abacus and mental arithmetic calculations vitally these activities  lead to the exchange of information and friendship among the participants from all over the world.

The following ten countries Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Canada, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, South Africa, USA and India are as members of PAMA.

The programme started up exactly at 10.30am. It was a pre-practice session between 10.30 and 11.30am to enhance the confidence and inspiration of the children. Children were seated group wish for this warming up session.

At 11:30am volunteers holding the flag of the member countries fall in a line on the stage.

All the parents of the children and other visitors were also to be at the back of the children participating area. At 11.45 the initial programme had its inception.

 

The organizing committee member madam Ms. Neeraja from Delhi should be really appreciated for her meticulous maneuvering and presentation of the show from the beginning to the end.

Executive commissioner of PAMA-India Shihan Pushpanathan  extended a warm welcome to one and all.

The Day’s guest of honor for the function was Ms.Marlene Ras of SEMAS – South Africa. She fulfilled her obligations through out the performances from the morning till the end of the show by drawing out on unending smile on her category countenance.

At the beginning of the show the member countries, India, South Africa and the U.S.A exchanged greetings. They appreciated the participants children and encourage them in their endeavors.

Exactly at 12.10 pm the competitions started. The children had to perform their might in 7 papers, 3 papers on Abacus in 3 minutes (+/- 20 sums 2 to 5 digits 10rows, X-30sums 3digits by 1 digit to 5digits by 3digits and division (/) 3digits divided by 1digit to 6digits divided by 4digits)  and 4 papers in Mental sums in one minute (+/- 20 sums 1 to 3 digits 10 rows, X-30sums 1digit by 1 digit to 3digits by 2digits and division (/) 2digits divided by 1 digit to 4digits divided by 2digits) .

The children were seated in A to E group wise. Before their executions, rules and regulations  were explained to them.

The actual programme execution was done by 12.23pm.

The participating children were very much enthusiastic and the presented an extraordinary interest and enthusiasm in their every attempt. Their whole hearted co-operation throughout the competition was highly commendable. From the beginning to the end they were very much in rowed in receiving the papers and completing the tasty bestowed on them. Reaping up the time stipulated for each paper. There was no face to express dissatisfaction of any kind. Their discipline was to the care.

The competition came to an end by 1.05 pm.

There was total satisfaction on the face of each of them and they exhibited them selves as if they had completed a great task.

All the participating children left the hall for their LUNCH after receiving a souvenir each.

Between 1.10 and 2.30 pm all the participants, parents and visitors were provided sumptuous lunch with vanities of relish able items and it is needless to emphasize that all the children enjoyed the colorful lunch items with their hearts content.

The Afternoon session started by 3.00 pm. The item was performance of mental calculations by the participating children group wise. This execution was to highlight and impress the parents and visitors in bringing out the in rate capacity of the training acquires by the children of SEMAS Academy.

The exhibition of the talents by the children was something outstanding in the mental calculations. The mental arithmetic performance of the children from each age group starting from six.

The programme consisted of mental sums containing varieties of additions, subtractions, multiplications and divisions of various formats. The items were meant for one minute execution.

The sums in each category were given and all the participants were able to do creditably in the time specified. The audience was spell bond by the talents exposed by the participating children.

The time of 4.00pm was meant for cultural activities, which were really the top of the day’s performances. There were totally 15 varieties of items.

Every item was outstanding in its own way. Mostly the participation groups belonged to India. Swararga Manjiri rendered the player at the outset.

The participants of Swararaga Manjari , Chennai, gave out highly attractive items like (1) National formation with 11 students (2) Dandiya (8 students) (3) Devotional Folk dance by P.Padma  (4) Devotional songs (6students) under the guidance of Mrs.Usha Mohan. One of the students from Avadi exhibited her flavor for music by performing a song on the key board.

The item Brahmanjali was presented by two students of Semas-Hyderabad.

The item ‘Hutke- jutke by 3 students of SEMAS R K Puram Delhi, was the mixture of Karate, classical Bharath Natyam and Yoga. Bring the same musical back ground for all the 3 items.

It was considered to be quite a superb performance by the audience.

The SEMAS –Kolhapur, Maharashtra student performance Bharata Natyam for a Hindi song. Another student form Solapur, Maharastra exerted a Hindi song for her kathakali Both the items were enjoyed by the audience as a whole.

Under the banner Om shanthi om,  Master Manoj presented a western disco dance. The performance was superb, the student got encomiums form the total audience.

The student B.Manasa of Hyderabad exposed her exceptional talents in performing a ‘Classical Jathigwara’ dance and she lured the appreciation of audience as a whole.

Lastly to decorate all the earlier items SEMAS- Ammapet, Salem, Tamilmadu a group of student presented a folk dance in Tamil highlighting the activities of agriculture commutes in India . The item was quite relish able and outstanding in its own way.

 At the end of the cultural programs, prize distribution was organized  at 6.25 pm.

The whole programme came to a close by 7.50 pm.

It is heedless to emphasize here that every individual participant as well  as visitor left the campus with his or her heart content. The whole credit goes to the organizer 10th PAMA Competition-2008, Shihan Pushpanathan, Chairman SEMA Academy, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India.
